Wat is a host family? It is a temporary home, where an animal has the change to be loved and pampered while waiting to find its forever home. As a host family, your role consists of familiarizing your foster dog\/cat with a daily routine, and to educate, socialize, desensitize and protect him or her, as well as help the association to promote the animal around you to make sure he\/she finds a home of their own. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember Me takes care of any veterinary costs, but you must contact us before scheduling an appointment with a healthcare professional (except in the case of an extreme urgency). Food and accessories are at your expense. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a minimum, you are requested to share updates regarding your foster dog\/cat once per month, which will help us to find him\/her a home that is appropriate considering his\/her nature and needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your opinion will be taken into account when your foster receives an adoption request; if you find the ideal family for the foster dog or cat, you should always put the family in touch with our association. We will remain the final decisionmakers to determine where the animal we are responsible for will be homed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belgian host families are also responsible for scheduling an appointment with their vet once the animal has arrived to register the dog to their name ; you must also register the chip of the foster animal with DogID, to your name, within 8 days of the animal's arrival in Belgium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
