Sans Colliers, un documentaire sur l'errance canine en Roumanie
Documentary

SansColliers

A documentary project about stray dogs in Romania and our work to save them. More information to come on the production.

About the film

In Romania, hundreds of thousands of dogs live without an owner, on the edge between domestication and the wild. Sans Colliers follows the daily life of three of them, three distinct fates that question our relationship with animals and with freedom.

One roams the streets of a town, another has found refuge in a pack on the outskirts of a village, the third survives alone in the wild. Through their journeys, the film explores what separates, or connects, the domestic dog from the dog returned to the wild.

IFFCAM and the filmmakers

The film is made by young filmmakers trained at IFFCAM (the French-language institute for wildlife filmmaking in Ménigoute).

Trained in wildlife documentary, they put their skills at the service of a subject that questions the dog's place between the human world and the wild. The project was born from their collective desire to give a voice to these forgotten animals.

Why this film speaks to us

In Romania, hundreds of thousands of dogs live without an owner, on the streets and in pounds. That is the reality «Sans Colliers» brings to the screen. We chose to support this project because it tells the very cause we act on every day: in Pascani, our dogs and the thousands already saved since 2014 are the concrete answer we bring to this crisis.
